I hate shopping carts.

Have you ever noticed that if you pick a shopping cart - out of the hundreds available at the store - you will inevitably pick the one that is broken? You'll pull away with it, then decide to turn back and replace it, only to pick another one that has the same problem. At this point, you give up (embarrassed and defeated), and just stick with the broken cart - pushing around your stuff while trying not to veer off course.

There's the perma-turn cart... the one that always wants to veer right or left. Then there's the cart that squeaks - letting everyone in the are know that you're coming. There's the perma-brake, where the wheel simply doesn't want to spin and it's a constant struggle to move forward. And then there's the classic flippy-wheel... where one of the cart's wheels flips quickly side to side, and may or may not be touching the floor.

And what's the deal with the 25cent rent-a-carts? If you don't have a quarter, too bad - no cart for you. You then need to resign yourself to the fact that you're going to have to use a couple of hand-held baskets.

And another thing... when you go to park your car and just as you're pulling in, you notice a shopping cart that someone kindly left behind. You need to get out of your car, move the cart, park your car, then get the cart... only to find out it has a broken wheel.

I hate shopping carts.
