If you're going to leave me a message, slow down when you get to the phone number.

Have you ever noticed that some people talk waaaay too quickly when they are leaving you a phone message?

While at work, a guy called to try and sell his company's services.  He goes on and on for 5 minutes about how great his company is, and how our organizations would be a perfect fit for each other, and yadda yadda yadda...  When he gets to the part to "call him back", he rhymes out the phone number and his extension so quickly that no human could possibly process and memorize it long enough to write it down.   


The worst part?  We have a ghetto answering service in our office, so you can't rewind the message - you have to play it from the start.  All I want to hear is the last 2 seconds that has the phone number in it, not the 5 minutes of him patting himself on the shoulder trying to make a sale.


If you're going to leave me a message, SLOW DOWN when you are leaving your phone number.  Chill out, take it easy - if you have 5 minutes to blabber on about nothing, you have 5 seconds to give me a chance to write down your phone number.
