Backyard Fence

This summer, the neighbor to my left and I put up our fence in our backyard. The neighbor on my right, consisting of a grandmother, her daughter and the daughter's son, refused to put up a fence.  Why? "I want the sunlight to hit my grass." as she eloquently put it.

Since when does the sun stop its rise at ground level so that a 6 foot fence is going to block it? Does it look like I'm asking you to put up the Great Wall of China?


I looked at her and said, "You know what's funny? You don't have a choice." and walked away.
