I'm not going to let you merge into my lane. Never.

Have you ever noticed the drivers who wait till the last minute to merge into your lane?  Each day, on my return trip home, I drive on a highway that goes from two lanes down to one, right before a traffic light.  Each day, I play "chicken" with the assholes who try to merge into the left lane at the last minute, before the light changes.

You know the drill.

You, being a good driver, stay in the left lane along with the majority of other drivers.  The line-up of cars is long, and the right lane is almost empty.  Then, in your rear view mirror, you see someone driving ever-so-slowly, signalling to merge into the left lane.  Of course, they've had the luxury of avoiding the line-up in the left lane, and now decide that it's their turn to merge.

Here's a tip.

When you see the merge sign - START MERGING

Don't wait till the last minute.  Be considerate.  By merging at the last minute, you're making me miss my green light, because everyone in the left lane has to wait for YOU.
